A new DFARS proposal recommends encryption for all Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) and proprietary data. Many worry that this new requirement will impose cost and performance penalties to agencies and organizations subject to the new regulation. However, a new technology breakthrough in network encryption management makes it easy and cost effective for these groups to protect SBU data while also allowing them to separate security controls from the network infrastructure. Best of all, this solution is ideally suited as a managed service, allowing organizations to meet budget restrictions without giving up control of security.

White Paper: The Truth About MPLS Security

DFARS 252.204-70YY would require encryption for all transmitted SBU data, including proprietary DoD information. If this proposed clause will impact your organization then you owe it yourself to read on.

TrustNet Manager, a recent technological advancement in encryption key management and distribution has made it possible for government agencies and other organizations to encrypt any network without impacting network reliability, application performance or engineering visibility. This same technology also de-couples security management from the network infrastructure, allowing organizations to maintain separation of duties between networking and security.

Using standards-based encryption algorithms and authentication methods, TrustNet Manager simplifies compliance with regulations like DFARS 252.204-70YY and allows any covered entity to encrypt their high speed, full mesh, and highly available networks without impacting network performance or visibility. Even networks running VoIP or Multicast video can be encrypted without impacting quality because the technology is transparent to QoS and other network services. No matter what type of network you use, you can get rid of encryption tunnels without giving up the security of IPSec encryption.

The on-demand webinar featured below offers a summary of security best practices. It also highlights the key components and benefits of this proven method for significantly reducing the risk of data loss or theft without having to compromise on performance or compliance.
